Porto, Portugal, September 2nd 2020 – Critical Manufacturing, leading provider of Industry 4.0 focused Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) designed to enable the advantages of the smart factories, has announced it has been awarded a contract by Alfa Laval, a world leader in heat transfer, separation and fluid handling technology for its future-ready platform.
Alfa Laval is a highly innovative company that is placing significant investment in Industry 4.0 (I4.0) as part of its “Smart Manufacturing” program. It has selected Critical Manufacturing’s modern MES to help increase efficiency, improve quality and effectively collect and analyse large quantities of IoT, product and process data to drive continuous improvements.
The implementation of the Critical Manufacturing MES will start with a core model installation, which will include features applicable to several Alfa Laval sites. The system will initially be deployed in a pilot site in Eskilstuna, Sweden but the full horizon of the MES program will embrace factories located throughout the world.
“Alfa Laval is following a pathway towards smart manufacturing which the Critical Manufacturing MES system was designed from the ground up to support. Our modern MES is modular and extensible and will provide a platform which will integrate both old and new equipment and adapt to current and future needs across the different factories.”
The MES will empower team members by providing complete visibility of operations and easy access to real-time data. It will make data collection, storage and processing more reliable and provide deep analytics capabilities to improve decision making processes.
“Alfa Laval is a true world-leader in their market. This is an extremely important project for us, and we look forward to working with them to meet their goals for smart production and helping them achieve a future-state of manufacturing that will set new benchmarks in quality and efficiency.”
