Paul Straeten is Head of Manufacturing Information Technology for Medtronic, supporting over 70 plus plants across the globe, from shop-floor to top floor. Medtronic is one of the biggest names in medical technology with $31 billion in annual revenue. Paul has significant experience for managing large global technical organizations and leading the development and implementation of business-driven digital IT programs. He most recently shaped a new vision on how to use old & modern technology in manufacturing, where he co-established a Smart Digital Manufacturing strategy for the company. Paul has a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and an end-to-end understanding on how the manufacturing & supply chain value stream operates, both from a business process and IT data perspective. He is able to articulate the key value drivers that increase operational performance and can explain, in simple wording, how technology can support better business outcomes without talking technology.
