PORTO, Portugal, June 03, 2015 – Yazaki Corporation, one of the world’s top 10 automotive OEM parts supplier, selected PT Empresas in partnership with Critical Manufacturing for implementation of cmNavigo MES in its Portuguese unit, Yazaki Saltano de Ovar Produtos Eléctricos Lda. This modular and unified manufacturing execution and intelligence system will provide Yazaki with a single, integrated view of enterprise data, to improve visibility and process control in its wire harnessesand components for automotive electronic distribution systems facility located in Portugal. The selection of cmNavigo from among a considerable array of providers was proceeded by highly-favorable evaluation of Critical Manufacturing’s state-of-the-art MES solution. By dint of the partnership formed with PT Empresas, Yazaki entrusted the implementation of integrated system for production control in its Portuguese facility. The end to end project will last six months and will be deployed at the injection molding area, with a future potential of expanding into other operations. The implementation will cover provision of automation hardware, connectivity tools, user friendly operator GUIs and integration with the existing ERP system.
With the implementation of cmNavigo MES, Yazaki – market leader and independent automotive component maker specialized in wiring harnesses – will gain reliable access to their operations quickly, easily and at the right level of granularity. Close collaboration between PT Empresas / Critical Manufacturing and Yazaki will contribute to increase its competitiveness and thus maintain a leading position in automotive segment.
