Girl Geek @ Critical Manufacturing - Definitely does compute
October 08, 2014
Critical Manufacturing will host the 24th edition of the Portugal Girl Geek Dinner, on October 25th at Criticalplex, the new premises of the Critical group in Maia.
Girl Geek Dinners is an informal organization promoting women in technology industries. Established in 23 countries, Girl Geek Dinners was founded in London in 2005 by Sarah Lamb who was tired of being the only woman at technical events, beyond having to justify why she was there to her male counterparts. She decided to change this and be treated just the same as any other geek out there, gender and age aside. After all, to be geeky is to be intelligent, have passion for a subject and to know that subject in depth.
Local events are organized with a range of female and male speakers with the majority of attendees being female. To make sure that happens, men can only attend as invited guests of female attendees.
Instead of dinner, this event occurring on a Saturday shall start with a welcome breakfast, followed by “geek” presentations and a light lunch.
Participation is free, but the number of seats is limited, so book your place now!
