Critical Manufacturing Foundation, or cmFoundation, is an Architecture & Integration Foundation, designed to seamlessly integrate all necessary IT stack layers, and increase the interoperability of dispersed manufacturing applications.
Through an open and extensible architecture, it covers the areas of Manufacturing Execution Systems, Manufacturing System Integration, Manufacturing Equipment Integration, Manufacturing Data Analysis and Business Intelligence.

Framework
The business tier implements and exposes all functionality as services to the outside world. The interface layer supports Web Services among other protocols.
The business workflows is the orchestration layer used to provide higher-level functionality through the coordination of business objects.
The business objects follow a hierarchical object model, which facilitate the development of objects with a common behavior. It’s also based on metadata, which allows the customer to extend existing objects and also to create new objects which integrate with the overall system.
Analytics Framework
Designed for the creation of an automatic powerful data warehousing, reporting and data-mining integrated capabilities.
Analytics Framework
It comprises the persistency together with all the reporting and business intelligence. It’s optimized for the runtime system, thus offloading as soon as possible data to the Operational Data Store (ODS) and to the Data Warehouse (DWH).
All data from all three levels, are accessible through the same Graphical User Interface.
