Let's Talk A Bit about social impact of technology
February 03, 2017
5th edition of Talk A Bit, a student organized tech conference, will take place on February, 4th 2017. This event, organized by graduating students in Software Engineering at FEUP (Faculty of Engineering - University of Porto, Portugal) focuses the impact of software engineering in modern society and how society can take advantage of technological advance.
2016 edition of the event gathered an audience of about 400 participants, including students, teachers and professionals, as well as speakers that contributed to it with great, inspiring talks: Ricardo Maciera (Portugal Head at Airbnb), Rui Bento (General Manager at Uber Portugal) or Paulo Dimas (Head of Product at Unbabel), and Francisco Almada Lobo (CEO at Critical Manufacturing).
Critical Manufacturing has eagerly promoted the previous Talk A Bit initiatives (especially that many of our talented engineers have FEUP background), and we continue to support this event also this year. Fraud prevention with machine learning, Emerging Educational Environments, information security, Data Science and Internet of Things are some of the areas to be discussed.
